Show Sheriff Brad Slater Letter December 20, 2009 Weber sheriff glad to serve I want to express my sincere appreciation for the privilege I have to work for the citizens of Weber County. Often it's easy to overlook some of our greatest blessings. One blessing is our opportunity to live in a nation governed by an inspired constitution that gives us the freedoms, liberties and opportunities to live and work in the greatest nation on earth. I know that as a citizen, many of us develop and share a great appreciation of our nation's founders and their important work and efforts. Another blessing we enjoy is that of our sheriff's office staff. The Weber County Sheriff's Office, our county and state are well served by individual members of the office. Whether they are sworn members, non-sworn or volunteer, their joint effort in performing critical daily tasks collectively shapes the well-being of our county, our communities and our families. The support of their families as they perform their duties be it day, night, weekend or holidays shifts is critical to our success. As a Weber County resident, my family is blessed by their service. Yet another blessing is the opportunity of serving with fellow Utah sheriffs, deputy sheriffs, police officers, conservation officers and troopers. I am grateful for the stellar service beyond what the job requires that many of them perform daily. Whether assisting an angry citizen, an unfortunate victim of crime or someone in need, I see examples of selfless service above and beyond. They are a tremendous example. As the year ends, I wanted to let you know of my appreciation and gratitude for your support of the Weber County Sheriff's Office. It has been a challenging year on many fronts; however, the support and positive comments from our residents make challenging times a bit easier for our staff and are greatly appreciated. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as your sheriff alongside the men and women of the Weber County Sheriff's Office. Please accept my personal wishes that you, your family and friends have a safe and enjoyable holiday season. Brad W. Slater Weber County sheriff Ogden 127 |
