Show The Pioneer Post Volume XI Issue 8 Marriott-Slaterville City Newsletter August 2009 Senior message Shauna Meyerhoffer, Senior Services We are happy to offer Tuesday lunch each week to seniors age 60+ at 11:30 AM at the Senior Center. This is a great opportunity to meet together, visit with friends, get informational tips, and get health checks. Our lunch count is based upon how many people attend each week, so if you are interested in coming to lunch just let us know so we can plan to have enough meals in advance. Sometimes we run out of meals, so be patient as we work you into the count. The meal are provided by the Weber-Morgan Nutrition Center. We also provide a monthly dinner on the 3rd Wednesday at 5:30 PM. Please RSVP with me in advance if you are interested in coming to dinner. On the last week of each month, a nurse comes to our lunch at the Senior Center to take blood pressure. Other health services are also provided quarterly. In addition to lunch, there are activities for seniors at the Senior Center. Each Thursday at 10:30 AM a Line Dancing class is offered. Also, Carolyn Deru will start weekly Yoga sessions again in September on Thursday morning at 9:00 AM. This is a great chance to get exercise and meet new friends. Anyone is welcome to attend, even if you're not a senior (yet). The Senior Center also has a wonderful library with books to check out, computers to use, and internet access. You can work on genealogy or read a favorite novel. We have many seniors that volunteer as part of our senior program. Thank you to all who participate.
