Show 13 OCTOBER 285 DAYS PAST Monday 80 DAYS TO COME I did quite an iorning & this afternoon rested for an hr. Ezra spent the evening with us. A letter from Avon SODIUM SULFATE- GLAUBERS SALTS Cure of a stomach complaint by the drinking of mineral waters led Johann Rudolph Glauber to investigate those waters. This resulted in the discovery of sodium sulfate, still known as Glaubers Salts. To this product Glauber attributed such marvelous curative powers that he called it sal mirabile Glauberi. His bust, reproduced here was used as a chemists sign for nearly two hundred years. JOHANNES GLAUBER (1604-1688) Tuesday 286 DAYS PAST OCTOBER 14 79 DAYS TO COME Went to Relief Society. Work and business. A large attendance at afternoon meeting. I went up to the Ward to sew at ten A M. Made pajamas for store house and this afternoon I helped quilt.
