In- j structor John Wahlquist will be ' the speaker. Miss Maxine Parker ; will read. The orchestra and Glee , ' club wil furnish the music. , A recommendation has been made that alternate assembly periods should be conducted by the faculty. The recommendation will j probably not be adopted at pres- j ent, however, as the student body J constitution expressly provides for j a weekly assembly under the aus- pices of the student body and it is i not considered advisable to meet j oftener than that under the pres- I ent unfavorable conditions. j At faculty meeting Monday night j Miss Evelyn Dobbs was appointed I chairman and Elmer Noall, vice chairman of the faculty committee j for the annual Classicalia, which ! will be given in March. Other ; members of the committee are i Francis Dillon, Etta Nelson, I Gladys Barbour, Vice Principal Gertrude Coolidge, C. J. Stewart, Ernest Wangsgard, A. T. Barrett, George Bergstrom and Principal Merrill. The student body council will meet this afternoon and will appoint a student committee to cooperate with the faculty commit- 1 g i tee to put over the Classicalia. An j effort will be made to make the i Classicalia bigger and grander than : ever before. j All students $ave been instruct- ; ed by their advisors to keep their ; report cards, as well as a list of I subjects and teachers throughout i their high school course, so that they may, at all times, know of j their exact standing and be prepared at any time to check with office records. Visitors at the school observe considerable improvement in the weekly assemblies. Teachers are co-operating with the students to make the assembly period of interest and profit. |
