Show Missing Children—911 Reverse Alert August 21, 2013 Missing kids at grandmas house By BUBBA BROWN Standard-Examiner staff bbrown@standard.net MARRIOTT-SLATERVILLE — Four children who went missing Monday night were found Tuesday morning at their grandmother's house, though details about how they got there are scarce. Authorities searched throughout the night for Mondo Balli, 12, Alias Balli, 11, Alyssa Balli, 8, and Oscar Munoz, 4, who went missing from their home at the Townhouse Estates Apartments, at 1045 S. 1200 West, around 8:30 p.m. Monday. Weber County Sheriff's Lt. Mark Lowther said the four children were found around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday at their grandmother's Washington Terrace home. Lowther said the investigation into the case is ongoing. Steve Gaily, who lives nearby in the apartment complex, said police knocked door-to-door around 11 p.m. Monday trying to locate the kids. Additionally, Lowther said, they used a reverse 911 call system in the early morning to notify people in the neigh borhood about the missing children. The mother also frantically called neighbors when she found out her children were gone, searching for any clues of where they might have been, Gaily said. "She was really freaked out," he said, adding that she has always seemed to be a good mother. "I was pretty freaked out, too, for the kids." 64 |
