Weber Fire District will no longer issue burn permits. Burn permits are now issued online by the Utah Division of Air Quality: http://www.airquality.utah.gov/Compliance/OpenBur ning/index.htm. Burning for yard clean-up can only be done with a burn permit during the open burn window when the National Weather Service clearing index is 500 or greater. No vehicle, trash, rubbish, tires, hazardous material, or petroleum products are to be burned. Certain agricultural and horticulture burning is exempt. Therefore, certain agricultural burning does not require a burn permit. However, notification prior to burning is encouraged by calling Weber Fire District at 801-782-3580. The burn window has been is expanded under the new rule. Burn permits may be obtained in the spring between March 30 and May 30. Also, burn permits may now be available in the fail between September 15 and October 30 when approved by the state forester. You cannot obtain a burn permit from the state until the burn window begins. Call the Utah Division of Air Quality at 801-536- 4000 for more information. Spring Clean-up Spring cleaning! Its time to clean-up the house, yard, and barn. Get rid of all that junk! To help you spring clean, a dumpster will be placed at Marriott Park and at Slaterville Park between April 20-21. Please put all garbage inside the dumpster, not on the ground. This is a complimentary service, please be considerate of others using the dumpster. No tires or hazardous material please. For junk cars, call Bill at the City Office, 801-627-1919 ext. 205. Community Helpers are Nice It would be nice to have willing helpers for our Community Gardens. Groups of volunteers were a great help last fall to cleanup and prepare our gardens for spring. Now the weather is warming we need: 1. Friends and neighbors to come and help clean-up and trim perennials and grasses in our gardens. 2. Strong, willing volunteers to spread mulch in May. 3. Service oriented community members to e-mail or call and make known their availability to help. This is a great opportunity to be of service, so I'll look forward to hearing from you soon. Thanks, Sandra sndrsut@aoI.com Surplus Property The city has surplus old computer equipment that is open for public bid at the city office, 1570 West 400 North.
