Show September 1, 2013 June Perkins Campbell Our loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away on September 1, 2013. June was born on June 15, 1952 in Ogden, UT to Ray B. and Lorraine Perkins. She was raised and educated in Roy, graduating from Roy High School. On April 25, 1970 June married her best friend Wayne Campbell at his parent's home in North Ogden. They lived in Farr West and later moved to Roy where they raised their children. They later moved to Marriott-Slaterville until Wayne's passing. June lived in Roy and Harrisville. June worked and retired from the Internal Revenue Service after 30 years. She enjoyed her work there and made many friends that remained special in her life.' June found great joy in her grandchildren and loved telling everyone about them. She touched many lives from work to those she met at her chemo treatments. For many years she courageously fought numerous forms of cancer. She became involved in the Relay for Life, showing her support for cancer research and the hope for a cure. June also volunteered each year at the Golden Spike Arena and the Weber County Fair. She always had a quick smile for everyone she met. Surviving are her children, Tami (Scott) Bowen and Tony (Bonnie) Campbell; grandchildren, Codie, Ty, Brock and Chase; brothers and sisters, Raylene (Charles) Perkins, Paul (Bonnie) Perkins, Betty Terry, Edith Crane, Dennis Perkins, Kathy Rigdon, and Arlene (Roger) Tucker. June was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne, and Father Ray Perkins. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 6, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. A special thanks to the ICU Staff at McKay Dee Hospital for their kind and special treatment of our mother. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice. The First Friday Art Stroll is a monthly event showcasing new exhibits in Ogden's galleries. Galleries stay open late, most from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., giving visitors a chance to check out the artwork and meet the artists. Participating galleries are along Historic 25th Street, between Wall and Jefferson avenues, with a few more spread throughout the city. Admission is free. For more information, call 801- 393-3866 or visit http://ogdencityarts.org. • The Eccles Community Art Center features paintings by Mac Stevenson and woodwork by Joe Deru, in the main gallery. Paintings by Kirk Larsen will hang in the Carriage House gallery. Stevenson, of North Ogden, is known for his work as a landscape artist. Many of the pieces on display at the Eccles Community Art Center were created in Scottsdale, Ariz., where the artist spent January through March participating in the city's Annual Celebration of Fine Art. The paintings have a contemporary look, with simplified shapes and intense color. Deru, of Ogden, also participated in Scottsdale's art show. His turned wood bowls, vases and sculptures are made from windfalls. A retired teacher, Deru began working with wood as a way to unwind after school. Larsen, of North Ogden, is a painter best known for landscapes, painted in oil. But he also creates murals on the walls of local homes and businesses. This is the first time Larsen's work has been featured in the Carriage House. Exhibits open with a reception, 5- 9 p.m. today, Sept. 6, and continue through Sept. 28. Pearl Stanger Elizabeth Pearl Stanger passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 15, 2013 with family present. She was 96. She was born December 24, 1916 to J. Lawrence ' and Bessie Elizabeth Millard and grew up in Marriott where she attended the Marriott school across from their home. After graduating from Weber High, she attended Ogden Beauty School. She married Joseph Leland Stanger on September 29, 1936 in the Salt Lake Temple. They made their home in Marriott and developed a farm and poultry business. Pearl loved being the egg lady where people would come from miles around to buy fresh eggs from the Stanger farm. Lee and Pearl loved to square dance and made many life long friends through their as- . sociation. She was a talented seamstress and in addition to . making clothes and quilts for the family, she made temple clothing. She was an active member of the LDS church and served in the Primary and Sunday School as a teacher and leader. She enjoyed serving with Lee as a stake missionary. Although farm work was demanding, Pearl loved to get away for a few days each summer to go camping with her family and friends in the high Uintahs. She loved being outside, watching beautiful sunsets and family visits. Pearl was preceded in death by her husband, J. Leland Stanger, her brothers, Lawrence Raymond (Zola) Millard, Henry Maurice (Annie) Millard, Merle Joy (Myrle) Millard, and sister, Marjorie Louise (Wilford) Bingham. She is survived by her children, L. Dallas (Sharon) Stanger, Marian S. Smout, Leon J (Lynda) Stanger, Jerry D. (Teh) Stanger, and Donald R. (Jeri) Stanger. She has 22 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Marriott-Slaterville ward at 250 N 1500 W, Marriott-Slaterville on Friday, September 20, 2013 at 11 AM. A viewing will be held at the same location Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and also hour before the funeral service. The funeral will be conducted by Bishop Jerry Stanger. Interment will be at the Ogden City Cemetery following the funeral. The family would like to thank Applegate Hospice and daily caregivers, Jazmin, Kalie, Brooke, Laycee and Jennie.
