Show August 24, 2013 August 18, 2013 Arthur Johnston Gibby MARRIOTT-SLATERVILLE - Arthur J. Gibby, 80, passed away August 24, 2013 at his home. He was born April 15, 1933 in Riverdale, Utah to Lionel Earl and Mavis Fern Johnston Gibby. Arthur lived in the Ogden area his whole life other than during the time he served in the Air Force from 1952 to 1960. He graduated from Weber High and attended the Univ. of Maryland through the Air Force. Arthur married Juanita Marie Billow in 1952; they later divorced. He married Jacqueline Hobbs Hawks in 1963 and they also divorced. Arthur. enjoyed hunting, fishing and his family. He was a member of the American Legion and the Eagles. He worked in the sign business as an electrician for 58 years; owning his own business for the last 33 years. He is survived by three sons and one daughter, Arthur Johnston (Deborah) Gibby Jr., William Earl Gibby, Kim Gibby and Cynthia Elaine Gibby Stokes; 11 grandchildren; thirty one greatgrandchildren; three great-greatgrandchildren; two brothers and one sister, Howard Earl (Gail) Gibby, Karl Ray (Jan) Gibby and June Gibby (Karland) Polk. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, LuJean Gibby Blackburn, Marie Gibby; brother, Darrell Gibby; daughter, Marie Gibby Porter; grandson, Eric Gibby; great-grandson, Zachary Allen Gibby and daughter-in-law, Teri Thornock Gibby. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at the Marriott-Slaterville 3rd Ward, 250 North 1500 West. A viewing will be held at the church, Friday, August 30th from 6 to-8 p.m. and Saturday from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Interment, Roy City Cemetery. A special thanks to Leon Wardeil. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.myers-mortuary.com Eggleston Pat and Doug Eggleston Fifty years ago, Doug and Pat Eggleston of Marriott-Slat erville were married on Aug. 15,1963, in Elko, Nev. They celebrated with their family at the Maddox Ranch House Restaurant. They have spent the last 50 years enjoying being parents and grandparents, and supporting their children and grandchildren in all they do. They have watched and participated in three generations of youth and high school rodeo, patiently waiting for the fourth generation to start. Following granddaughters across the state to cheer them on in their Softball endeavors is another favorite pastime. They have four children: Candy and Keith Colvin, Troy Eggleston (deceased), Irish and Steve Morgan, and Wes and Whitney Eggleston. They have eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. 198 |
