Randy for Phipps Mayor As you know by now I am running for the Office of Mayor for our city. I have been concerned for some time about our city's direction. We have acquired a city office, parks and open space. Money and equipment to complete and maintain the acquired parks and trail systems has not been forthcoming. It has been very hard to get the necessary money allocated to improve or maintain these acquisitions. I do not want or expect any change to our city taxing policy but we do need to take care of what we have. The Mayor's major responsibility is to manage the affairs of the city which include taking care of our assets, our employees and last but not least our residents and those who have chosen to have businesses in our city. This can be done better. The one area that needs to be improved is communication. Modern technology needs to be embraced. There is no reason that anyone who wants to be informed as to what is going on in our city cannot do so. Information can easily be sent to most hand held devices and ail computers with minimal effort by city employees. The mayor has the ability and responsibility to be in touch with all that goes on that concern the operations of our city. 71
