Show The Pioneer Post Volume XV Issue 9 Marriott-Slaterville City Newsletter September 2013 Water Conservation The Pioneer Special Service District provides pressurized irrigation to a number of residents in Marriott-Slaterville City. This summer Weber-Box Elder Conservation District issued water restrictions for residents using pressurized irrigation in Farr West and Plain City. Some places have been cut down 50% in water availability. Although these restrictions did not include Marriott- Slaterville City, our residents using pressurize irrigation are encouraged to follow conservation practices. Residents should water after 6:00 PM and before 10:00 AM. Businesses, churches, parks, and nonresidential users may water during the day or contact the city to for the best watering times so that water pressure can be stabilized. While Marriott-Slaterville City is currently fortunate to have sufficient water supplies, please avoid over watering and consider watering every other day. For water conservation tips and restrictions, please visit: www.weberbasin.com. Fire Safety Fire dangers have been extreme this year. Businesses and residents are asked to keep dry vegetation cut and cleared. Please remove dry vegetation from fence lines and use safety measures to prevent fires. Keep your property free from dry wood and flammable material that may present a fire hazard. West Davis Corridor The deadline for the official public comment period has been extended to September 6, 2013. During the public comment period, the public is encouraged to review the contents of the Draft EIS and submit their formal comments to the study team for consideration. The Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) is available electronically for review on the Documentation Page of the study website: www.udot.utah. gov/westdavis. A hard copy of the Draft EIS is also available at various city buildings and libraries throughout Davis and Weber counties. The Draft EIS is a large report, documenting all the data, information, input and analysis the team has collected and studied for the past three years of the study. The Draft EIS also identifies UDOT's locally preferred alternative, which is a recommendation based on all the data reported thus far. All public comments will be reviewed and formally responded to in the Final EIS document, which is expected to be released in winter 2013. This will be followed by a Record of Decision from Federal Highway Administration in spring 2014. For questions or concerns, please contact the study team at 877-298-1991 or westdavis@utah.gov.
