This year we worked hard to develop a balanced budget. I am pleased to say that Marriott- Slaterville City has never imposed a property tax and has no debt. All our efforts to make this city a success are benefitted by our wonderful community volunteers. Volunteers put together our city events, maintain our community gardens, and serve in various appointed positions. I wish each of you a wonderful holiday season. May the new year be bright and beautiful for you as well. Community Awards Each year residents have an opportunity to nominate others in the community for our annual awards. This is your chance to recognize someone for going above and beyond as a neighbor, business, contributor, leader, youth, or volunteer. Nominations are now being accepted by the Mayor for the following: The Good Neighbor Award - nominate a neighbor or business that is an exemplary example. Elna Lucas Community Culture/History Award - nominate a person who has contributed to our local community history and culture during the year. H. Orvil Holley Youth Leadership Award - nominate any youth who has shown outstanding leadership. Darrell Mecham Community Service Award - nominate an extraordinary volunteer in the community. The final deadline for nominations is December 12. Please send your nomination with a short supporting statement to: Marriott-Slaterville City, 1570 West 400 North, MSC, UT 84404. PLANNING COMMISSION TUESDAY, DECEMBER 17,2013 - 7:00 P.M. ***Meeting Cancelled*** This agenda is tentative. Items can and will change. CITY COUNCIL MEETING THURSDAY, DECEMBER 19,2013 - 6:30 P.M. 1. Call to Order/Minutes. 2. Discussion/action on annual independent audit. 3. Annual awards. 4. Christmas party for volunteers. 5. Adjourn. This agenda is tentative. Items can and will change. Breakfast with Santa Paying a special visit from the North Pole, Santa will visit Marriott-Slaterville City on Saturday, December 14, 2013, from 9:00 - 11:00 AM at the Senior Center, 1570 West 400 North. Come enjoy breakfast and meet the Jolly Old Elf. Remember to bring a camera! The cost is $3.00 for adults, and $2.00 for children 12 and under. In order to attend, RSVP by calling the City Office at 801- 627-1919. Trunk-or-Treat Special thanks to all those who participated in the Trunk- or-Treat and to our event committee: DeAnn Hufstetler, Becky Burt (DeAnn'a right hand woman), Randy Phipps (hot dog man), Pam & Kellie Slater. Thanks to all the participants and the many who decorated their trunks for this event.
