Show More Ghosts (Cont'd) October 21 2013 down some ground rules. Pardue told guests not to wander off by themselves. He explained that ghosts can't hurt you, but they may try to scare you in order to get you to run, trip and fall — effectively hurting yourself. He also warned against provoking ghosts or inviting them to touch you, claiming that any sort of invitation can be an invitation for the entity to "attach" itself to you. "Once you open a door, you can't close it," Pardue said. "If you invite something to stand next to you, you've invited it to attach itself to you." According to OMPFs website, some signs of a haunting or ghostly presence are "a general uneasy feeling, noises you can't explain, unexplained movement, unexplained temperature changes, and the feeling of being touched." The investigation centered around two barns and a cottonwood tree. The only incidents of note to occur Saturday night were an unexpected cry from a cat outside the first barn and strange smells and faulty wiring in the second. However, there were a few return guests in the group of 14 who claimed that Friday night's investigation had been much more active and much more frightening. "Oh, my gosh, it was incredible!" said Brenda KERA WILLIAMS/Special to the Standard-Examiner A tool used by the Oquirrh Mountain Paranormal Investigators team during a ghost investigation on a 161-year-old farm site in Marriott- Slaterville on Saturday. Gordon owner of Pack 'N Pounce Rescue. Proceeds from the ghost investigation are being donated to Pack 'N Pounce Rescue to buy feed for their rescue horses. "Those lights [on the EMF] flashed with every question. The hair stood up on our heads and the back of our necks. The temperature dropped. All of a sudden it dropped seven degrees, and then it dropped 10 degrees, and then it warmed back up. It was just absolutely incredible." Gordon's sister, Becky Cousineau, said she also experienced ghostly activity Friday night. "I've always believed like there was something, but last night scared the dickens out of me," Cousineau said. "I felt like I was being overtaken by this huge emotion and actually being crushed. Then I also had a choking sensation. I actually had to leave the area we were in, because I felt like it was going to be completely smashed to the floor. That was in the white barn. The green barn we felt it a little bit, but not as intense." If you feel like making contact with the other side, you have one more weekend to participate in the Sleepy Millcreek Hollow Ghost Investigation.
