Show PLEASE GET OUT AND VOTE!!! Statement for Erin Holley Candidate for City Council, West District Related Experience: Present Chairman of West Weber Community Council. The opportunity to serve as chairman of this council which appropriates land trust moneys for West Weber Elementary School has given me experience in the budgeting process, monitoring revenue, amending budgets, and handling expenditures, as well as voting for policies in behalf of a community. I have served as Chairman for over a year and as a member of the council for 5 years. Mission Statement and Goals: * Our city council and mayor have worked diligently to remain city property tax free and I am committed to that extremely important effort. * I will represent ALL of the people in the decisions I make with the long-term future of the city in mind. * I realize it takes a team effort to make good decisions for our community so I will keep our citizens informed and strongly encourage participation. Short term goals: *Create a plan for volunteers to assist in weed abatement. Dyer's Woad and puncture weeds, are a specific problem for our area. Educating our citizens about the environmental impact is important. *Create a plan to relieve the dangerous parking issue at Slaterville Park due to soccer practices and tournaments. *Rigorous monitoring of budget throughout the year. Long Term Goals: * Maintain the city's General Plan to keep our community's rural lifestyle. * Remain city property tax free. 73 |
