Show Arrest Made in Robbery, December 13, 2013 'Kidnapped' mom arrested for plotting robbery with son Titensor By ANDREAS RIVERA Standard-Examiner staff MARRIOTT-SLATERVILLE — Weber County detectives say an unusual robbery involving a man kidnapping his own mother at gunpoint may have been an inside job. Pamela Rose Titensor, 49, of Clearfield, was arrested Thursday for her alleged involvement in the Oct. 27 robbery of the Marriott- Slaterville Maverik convenience store where she worked, said Weber County Sgt. Lane Findlay. Titensor claimed to have been jumped by a man in a black ski mask outside the store, 509 N. 2000 West, when she was taking out the bank deposit. He allegedly forced her to drive to Slaterville Park, where he took the $7,000 in cash and left her zip-tied to the steering wheel. It was soon discovered that the alleged robber was Titensor's 24-year-old son, David Conerly, of Ogden. Earlier that day, a resident near Slaterville Park had noticed a suspicious vehicle at the park. When Titensor was meeting with police at the park, she called her son to come be with her. The resident observed that it was the same vehicle as earlier and told police. Conerly Conerly was eventually charged with aggravated robbery and aggravated kidnapping. At first, he maintained that he acted alone, but then, apparently in hopes of receiving lesser charges, told police he planned the robbery with his mother, Findlay said. Investigators found it suspicious that the alleged victim wouldn't have recognized her own son's voice and vehicle. The alleged crime also took place on a side of the store without security camera coverage. After interviewing Titensor several times, investigators found evidence that contradicted her account of events and had probable cause to arrest her, Findlay said. She was booked into Weber County Jail on suspicion of theft, obstruction of justice, criminal solicitation and making a false police report. Titensor has maintained she was not involved in the robbery and had no idea the masked man was her son. The stolen cash has not been recovered. Conerly claims that he burned the money, Findlay said.
