Show Marriott-Slaterville History August 2013 If a change in ownership occurred, a Development Agreement is required, recorded on the property, which gives notice to any new owner that they will have to continue with the same requirements. Mr. Mantis said his company is a family owned business. After further discussion by Council members Ordinance 2013- 02 was approved unanimously. Resolution 2013-J, approving a temporary easement for the Central Weber Sewer District for sewer line construction was discussed by the City Council. This would allow the installation of one or more main sewer outfall lines and related facilities. This second trunk line would help carry sewage to the plant for cities that flow in this direction, and would take the load off the sewer line on 400 North. This line is at capacity and a new line would decrease the possibility of sewer backup for some residents. Councilman Deibert Hodson feels the citizens of our City pay a very high fee to have sewer. Mayor Butler said some cities subsidize sewer, which we do not, and he feels that our residents pay a fair rate. Both Councilman Kim Slater and Mr. Hodson feel that Central Weber Sewer is not a very good neighbor. Mr. Slater told of problems which have occurred in his personal dealings with the Sewer District. After discussion, Resolution 2013-J passed unanimously. The council listened to a voice mail received by Mr. Morris from Governor Herbert's staff thanking him for his letter to the Governor on the Business License Review. The City Council will be invited to meet the Governor for a photo shoot and to received the "Business Friendly Community Award." The council reviewed the Fourth of July Celebration, which has received positive feed back from the public. The Council thanked everyone involved in the celebration. The Halloween Trunk-or-Treat was discussed, which has been popular with the residents. Because of the influx of non-residents, some changes must be made. It was decided that advertising for the event will be limited to residents and their families, and that the city will charge for food. Mayor Butler also expressed a concern about safety. Other concerns were expressed about safety. Mr. Hodson is concerned about service of the Sheriff's office, as he never sees a patrol in his area. Mr. Slater feels parking at events at Green Barn Gardens pose a hazard. He also is concerned over flooding on Mill Creek caused by beaver dams. The August issue of The Pioneer Post also gave residents information from the Weber Fire District about backyard fires. Information from the 2012 International Fire Code, adopted by the State of Utah, effective July 1, 2013, follows: Bonfire-An outdoor fire utilized for ceremonial purposes-shall not be conducted within 50 feet of a structure or combustible material unless the fire is contained in a barbecue pit.
