Show Aroy-D (Cont'd) Things have become easier with the help of a loyal staff running the operation like a well-oiled machine. But, in other ways, the work has gotten even more hectic, as she puts in longer hours to keep up with the growing clientele. Somcharee is happy to see customers returning again and again, and to find out they have referred friends and family. She attributes the steady increase in business to having a clean environment, high-quality food and a friendly staff. She recently updated her menu with detailed descriptions of the dishes and, although most of the food is spicy, she prepares it with more or less heat depending on the diner's preference. Somcharee stays heavily involved in the food preparation each day, saying she frequently arrives 1 to 2 hours prior to opening to get things ready for the day. "I don't let anyone do the spring rolls except me," she said, referring to a popular appetizer, Po Pia Sod ($7), two spring rolls made from rice paper stuffed with shrimp, rice noodles, lettuce, mint, carrots and cucumber. The secret is to wrap them up tightly so the filling doesn't fall out when ttye rolls are dipped in tne sweet chili and spicy tamarind sauce, she said. All of her curry dishes are popular sellers, including Yellow Curry ($11), made with meat, carrots, potato and onion; Green Curry ($11), made with meat, green bell peppers, zucchini, bamboo shoots and basil; Red Curry ($11), made with meat, bell pepper, zucchini, bamboo shoots and basil; and Panang Curry ($11) and Massamun Curry ($11). The Panang and Massamun curries are red in color, but have distinctly different flavors. For example, the Panang is topped with lime leaves and the Massamun has a peanut flavor, Somcharee explained. Soups, such as Spicy and Sour Seafood, or Po Tak ($14), are a hit with diners, and all of her salads are popular - especially the Green Papaya Salad, or Som TUm ($11), with shreddec green papaya, shrimp, tomatoes, garlic lime juice and ground peanuts in a house sauce over sticky rice and fresh cabbage. The extensive menu also includes popular Thai entrees such as Cashew Nut Stir Fry ($11), Basil Stir Fry with meat ($11), and Stir Fried Meat With Garlic ($11). I would like to remind the writer that the Republican Congress members vowed that they would not pass anything that was put before them by President Obama. They are so entrenched in their radical racist ideology that they have set about lying and cheating in order to fool the American people into believing them. i even doubled lown on their threat to shut do\yn the government if the Affordable Care Act isn't defunded. I believe that had the "old" Republican racist fuddy-duddies come down off of the holier-than- thou high-horses that the country would not be in the deplorable condition it is now in. And yes, I mean "racist." All you need to do is look at the candidates that Republicans ran against President Obama. Democrat or Republican, had our current president been white, Republicans wouldn't have exposed their racist underbelly. Now we know! And that's the rest of the story.
