Show Adeen Elizabeth | ~ Hawkins Blackwell / ae a grin was born Santainber 20, 1927 in Hope, Ark. to Lewis. ~ Hawkins, Jr. and Vivian Knox: Hawkins. She married Willard Lorenzo Blackwell in Kansas | City, MO on April 26, 1953, and they were proud parents | of four boys. Adeen began her career as | an x-ray technician at St. Benedict's Hospital in Ogden, Utah. She then worked for the state of Utah as a social technician. Her indomitable spirit and hunger for Knowledge lead Adeen to attend Neber State University and _ (graduate at the age of 60 with a “degree in social work. » ‘Adeen loved her family and will always be remembered for hosting holiday gatherings where ughter, good food and conver-. ation were always the focus. ~. Awoman of faith, she was an “active member of the New Zion _ her husband, Willard Blackwell, “hae brothers and one sister. _ She is survived by one brother, a ‘Baptist Church in Ogden where she sang in the choir for 50 years. There she also served on the usher board, coordinated the © Easter program and sang in the | gospel harmonettes.. | Adeen was also active in her community. She and eight friends formed a group called The Friendly 8, which provided humanitarian assistance to Og_ den residents.
