Daisy Ruth Shephard Gentry Ogden — Daisy Ruth Shephard Gentry, 90, passed away May 29, 2015. She was born December 6, 1924 in Evergreen, Alabama to Katie (Nettles) and Luman Shephard. Daisy married Charles Gentry in 1940. Daisy was a member of New Zion Baptist Church for over 60 years and was in the Choir. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed sewing, volunteer work and cooking. Daisy is survived by her daughter, Cindy Thomas; granddaughter, Chambre Weatherspoon; great-grandson, Patrick Robinson III; her sister, Carrie Smiley and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; grandson, Aaron Simpson and 9 brothers and 5 sisters. A Celebration of Daisy’s life will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at New Zion Baptist Church, 2935 Lincoln. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, June 9" from 6 to 8 p.m. at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. and at the church on Wednesday prior to the service from 12 to 1 p.m. Interment will be in Ogden City Cemetery.
