Show Modestine Aline Carpenter June 28, 1928 ~ January 26, 2016 Our beloved mother and grandmother, Modestine Carpenter, a woman of grace, strength and full of Gods mercy, returned to her Heavenly home on January 26, 2016. She was born on June 28, 1928 in Tyler, Texas to Oscar K. Truesdell and Lillie Bell Travis. Modestine married her sweetheart, John E. enter on July 4, 1946. They spent 55 wonderful years together until his passing in 2001. She lived the first part of her life in Tyler, Texas and has made O igden her home for the last 63 years. She was a faithful member of the New Zion Baptist Church’ for more than 50 years. She served as a Deaconess, President: of the Missionary Society, and was a Sunday School Teacher. : Modestine retired from Kmart after 22 years. She also: worked for Futures Through Choice. a a She enjoyed puzzles, cross stitch, cooking, and canning. 5 She loved spending time with her family and friends sitting on: her porch. ee | She is survived by her children: Dr. Donald R.
