Show Jennie Vaughn Hood April 13, 1912 ~ August 70, 2015 Jennie Vaughn Hood, 103, passed away at home surrounded by her family, on August 10, 2015. She was born on April 13, 1912 in Opine Clark County, Alabama to Reese Vaughn and Jennie Alston. She married Archie Hood on May 10, 1931 in Arkansas. They moved to Utah on December 14, 1944. From this union were born seven daughters and two sons. She was Beptioed as a member of the Jehovahs Witnesses 1949. She thoroughly enjoyed engaging in the ministry. activities. Her hobbies were quilting, embroidery, canning, working her beautiful garden and yard. She played baseball with her children and the neighborhood children and enjoyed cooking She was famous for her "Jennie Fried Chicken" and her bread pudding. She mostly enjoyed being with her family and all of her grandchildren: A special thanks goes to Crestwood Care Center, Applegate Home Health and Pineview Rehab. Thanks to Dr. Michae Woolman and his nurse, Rita. Also thanks to the nurses, Tif} fanee, Gaylene, Liz and her home health care aides, Liz, Lisa Riley and Yolie. A very special thank you to the family mem. bers that helped take care of mom. She is survived by her five daughters and two sons, Ber | nice Clayton Dechant, Odell (Lena) Hood, Roberta Williams Doris Douglas, Bobbie Daniels, Helen Hood, Alvin (Jodi Hood; 24 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 25 greatgreat-grandchildren; and many step- -srand and great-grand children and by two special nieces, Johnnie L. Foster of CA and Aurellura (Elwood) Smith, of NC and many nieces; neph- ews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her husband, Archie Hood; two daughters, Bereatha Weatherspoon, Elnezer Hood; five broth ers; five sisters; five grandchildren, Robert Ww Clayton Patrick Hood, Kim Rudell Hood, Shawanda "Shanda" Hooc and Mycheal J Williams; and three great-grandchildren. ; She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and a special lady and wi be missed very dearly by many. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, August 21, 2015 at 11 am. at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. A viewing will be held Thursday, August 20, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m. and prior to services from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
