Show Willie “Harvey” Simpson, Sr. was born to Robert and Euleen Simpson on January 20, 1953 in Flint, Michigan. He was a. | faithful and devoted member of the New Zion Baptist Church for many years where he sang in the Sanctuary and Male | Choirs, was on the Security Team and assisted in the Culinary (Cuisine) Ministry. Harvey served in the United States Air Force and was employed by General Motors. He loved fishing, playing cards and dominos. His one joy was spending time with his grandchildren and spent many hours playing ball with them and 4 just being “Poppy” to them. Harvey was a loving husband, father and grandfather “Poppy”. He leaves in God's care his loving wife of 40 years: Brenda Simpson, two sons: Maurice (Charity) Simpson, Willie Simpson, Jr., both of Washington Terrace, Utah, a Stepfather: Aaron Williams of Flint, Michigan; five grandchildren: Shayla, Christopher, Maurice Jr., Jaylen and Andre. Simpson; four brothers: Rickey (Beatrize) Simpson, Aaron, Joey, Bruce Williams; three sisters: Sandra (Bobby) Wells,— Patricia (Myron) Stinson; seven sisters-in-law: Ann (Donald) Lockett, Paulette (Michael) Thompson, Victoria Adams, Ava. (David) Thompson all of Flint, Michigan, Myra (Lloyd) Hearst of Atlanta, Georgia, Penny (Roy) Richardson of Minnesota and Linda Jones of Detroit, Michigan; two brothers-in-law: Joe (Brenda) Jones, Zephniah (Gloria) Jones of Michigan; — special cousin: Raymond Munerlyn of Flint, Michigan. A host of nieces, nephews and friends. A special friend: Rhonda “Nurse Betty” Lockhart, Debra Banks, Wanice Smith, Benny Goodman and James McGowen. The family would like to express thanks to Pastor Carey and First Lady Phyllis McCall and the New Zion Baptist Church family.
