Show Edward Earl Taylor Ogden — Edward Earl Taylor, 76, passed away November 30, 2014. Edward was born August 20, 1938 in Memphis, TN to DeWitt Taylor and Ida Mae Drake. He attended Ogden City schools, Weber State Univ., and the Univ. of Colorado at Services National Veterans Training Institute. He served his country in the U.S. Army. | Ed married Joyce A. Chess in 1957; later divorced. He married Carol Sue Rose in 1974. : He sang professionally with his group “The Chaperones” with his dear friends, Dick Barlin, Joe Weakely, Dave Tucker and Fred Brown. Ed was a founding member of New Zion Baptist Church where he was very active in the Sunday School Ministry, Trustee Board, Male Choir, Mass Choir and participatedin many events and special celebrations. He worked for Utah State Employment Services, he was the Youth Services coordinator and worked with Older Workers, Veterans, Tax Credit and retired as the Supervisor of Veterans Section after 27 years of dedicated service. Ed is survived by his wife, Carol; children, Treasure (Ben) Lampley, Cynthia (Ray) Strickland, Michelle Tyler, Eric Taylor, Amaya (Mike) Gregory; step-children, Felicia, Rudy, and Mike Gonzales; son-in-law, Walt Tyler; 16 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; siblings, Dora (Willie) Owens, Dynetta Taylor, Janice (James) Reeves, Gwendolyn _ (Ray) Younger, Carolyn Lamb, Brenda Taylor and Robert (Shanoa) Taylor. | He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers and a sister. Memorial Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, December 5, 2014 at New Zion Baptist Church, 2935 Lincoln Avenue. Friends may call prior to the service from 12 to 1 p.m. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please donate to the American Cancer Society.
