.••iter <*% *#* w PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE It is my pleasure to introduce you to Weber State — Utah's total college, the only institution in the Intermountain West offering such a uniquely broad spectrum of studies for so many different interests. Here you will have a chance to obtain an excellent education in a fully accredited college offering majors not only in the liberal arts and professional fields, but also in superbly equipped, long-established vocational and technical programs. Weber State has a well-prepared faculty whose members have received advanced degrees from institutions throughout the United States and several foreign countries. An impressive number hold the highest degree possible in their respective disciplines. Limited use of graduate teaching assistants assures you total exposure to full-time professional instruction. Both faculty and staff are dedicated to helping you gain the most meaningful experience possible. This past year we developed a Learning Center, designed to provide effective help in your personal improvement of: reading, English, Mathematics, test taking, studying, personal adjustment and library use. Tutoring is also available on an individual or small group basis through the Center. A major campus development this year is the $3.9 million addition to the library currently under construction. Scheduled for completion by summer quarter of 1975, the library will double its present size and will accommodate a potential student body of 12,000. Also during this year, we will begin construction of a new Special Events Center costing $7.5 million and scheduled for completion in 1976. Conceived basically as a basketball arena, the 12,000 seat facility is designed to accommodate a variety of special college and community events, including conventions, exhibits, circuses, symphonies, concerts, ice shows, pageants, to name just a few possibilities. Whether your goal is career placement, graduate school, or professional school, we can assist you in achieving it.
