Show Technology Technology Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering Technology Aviation Utah Skills Center North These departments have structured programs or emphasis areas as follows: Automotive Engineering Technology Department has: Auto Body Automotive Engineering Technology Automotive Service Automotive Technology Diesel Service Diesel Technology Distributive Education Department has: Cosmetology Fashion Merchandising (in cooperation with Family Life) Food Distribution Food Service Operation Interior Design (in cooperation with Family Life) Sales and Office Administration (in cooperation with Department of Business Education) Sales and Retailing Electronic Engineering Technology Department has: Electronic Engineering Technology Electronic Technology Industrial Electricity Instrument Repair Emphasis Electronic Assembly Related Technical Education Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering Technology Department has: Engineering Graphics options in Architectural Technology Civil Drafting Electro-Mechanical Drafting Tool Design Drafting Industrial Arts Industrial Engineering Technology Logistics Program Machine Tool options in Numerical control machining and programming Tool and die fabrication Machine shop supervision General machine shop specialties Manufacturing Engineering Technology Manufacturing Technology Welding Aviation Utah Skills Center North In addition, a Pre-Engineering Program is operated within the School of Technology with its offerings presently coordinated from the Electronic Engineering Technology Department, and an Architectural preparation program is coordinated with the Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering Technology Department. Each of the departments issues Certificates of Skill Proficiency for agreed upon levels of achievement. They also issue Certificates of Completion and Associate of Applied Science Degrees in appropriate programs as indicated in the individual department descriptions which follow. Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degree may be earned by students completing indicated baccalaureate programs in: Automotive Engineering Technology Automotive Technology Electronics Engineering Technology Industrial Engineering Technology or Manufacturing Engineering Technology ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY CORE PROGRAM Engineering Technology Programs prepare individuals for occupations working with both engineers and craftsmen, designers and producers. Engineering Technologists are essentially "hands on" engineers. They apply established engineering principles and rules and direct production of machines, structures, and products which engineers have designed. This "hands on" approach is in contrast to the Engineer (who may also begin his training in the Pre-Engineering program with the School of Technology) who concentrates on design and on development of new engineering principles and procedures; and who re- 308 309 |
