COURSES OF INSTRUCTION The faculty of the School of Education believes that tr IPT program represents a very significant innovation in teach< education. Since it is a departure from familiar practice i higher education, it is suggested that students contact a faculi adviser for additional information before beginning the studies in teacher education. Internship Program exists for the student in elemental or secondary education. The basic philosophy of the Elementar Teaching Intern Program (E-TIP) and Secondary-Teacher I tern program (S-TIP) is to provide interns with sound and e fective supervisory assistance throughout their first year teaching, to further increase the depth and breadth of the experience with pupils and the school curriculum, to offer mo support in coping with the problems faced by the first ye teacher, and to make for deeper insight into the attitudes ai activities required of a professional teacher. Students interested in becoming candidates for the inte program must obtain application forms from the student teac ing office and submit them by December 1st preceding the ye Courses required for certification will be offered each quarter of the regular school year and in the evening school and summer school as the need dictates. Other courses listed will be offered as the need arises, either in day school, evening school, or summer school. 195.
