Show Eligibility 2. If as a result of withdrawing from a class the student becomes a part-time student and feels that there are extenuating circumstances involved, the student may make written appeal to the Eligibility Committee. B. A student must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0. C. A student placed on academic warning or disciplinary probation is deemed ineligible. II. ACTIVITIES CONCERNED A. Student government and other student leadership and service activities. B. All student organizations, including social and service organizations, sororities and fraternities, ethnic and religious groups, and other similar organizations. C. Music and dramatic events. D. Debate. E. Publication Staffs. F. Chantonelles, Song Leaders, and Rally Men. G. King and Queen, and other similar contests, such as "Miss Weber State," "Ski King and Queen," etc. Before students may represent Weber State College in intercollegiate athletics, they must comply with the eligibility regulations adopted by the Institutional Council of the College, and the constitution and operating codes of the BIG SKY Conference and the NCAA. Any student who participates in any of the activities concerned without meeting all of the criteria for eligibility, including full-time registration in the quarter during which the student participates, places himself and his organization in jeopardy. If a student's eligibility is challenged and found wanting, he and his organization may be required to forfeit any win gained during such participation. 64 Instructional Development INSTRUCTIONAL DEVELOPMENT O. Reese Parker, Director Professor of Libraries, William H. Daehling; Production Manager, H. N. Messner; Graphic Artist, Karen Wimmer. The Instructional Development unit operates as a service organization to the academic areas of the college. The aim of the unit is to assist faculty in applying a systematic process to designing instruction. This process involves identifying the objectives, instructional procedures and evaluation techniques to be developed, implemented and monitored in improving instruction. The unit is supported by an instructional media production area which produces a wide range of materials used for instruction. The specific activities presently engaged in are: 1. Assistance in the formulation of faculty, department, school, and College plans for identifying instruction goals, and procedures for meeting these goals. 2. In-service training of faculty in applying instructional development techniques. 3. Identification of areas of overlap among departments and schools where combined instructional efforts would be more beneficial to the students. 4. Identification and application of the proper instructional equipment to meet instructional needs. 5. Application of evaluation systems to insure quality programs. ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT M. The Department of Organizational Development is designed as a service organization to campus personnel. It has the responsibility for planning, monitoring and measuring human development programs at Weber State College. 65 |
