Show Obituary Reverend Cal H. Carter Sunrise August 2, 1930 - Sunset May 6, 2017 Cal H. Carter was the oldest child of Tommie and Nola (Hull) Carter in Monroe, Arkansas. He was married to and survived by his wife the former Bertha Cobb. He is survived by or preceded in death by brothers and sisters with their spouses: Chester and Jewel Carter, Larvell (D) and Lovella (D) Lawrence and Mary (D) Carter, and James and Jackson. Cal’s surviving (Cannon), Donald Carter, death. Cal also has a Shirley Carter, Lerlean (D) and Ira Lee Gibson (D) Maxine and Gordon (D) Sparks, Annie E. and Kiley children by his former spouse: Judy (Irving), Shirley and Vanessa ( Walker), and one child preceded him in host of nephews, nieces, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Cal H Carter served honorable in the United States Army and participated in the Korean War. He was employed and retired at the Weber Basin Job Corps Civilian Conservations Center, Ogden Utah. Rev. Cal H. Carter was set apart and ordained to the work of the Gospel Ministry, and he served faithfully in New Zion Baptist Church, Second Baptist Church, and throughout the State of Utah. Additionally, he served as interim pastor for New Zion Baptist Church. He preached the gospel of Jesus Christ with boldness during Sunday worship services, Good Friday services, Sonrise services, and at various other locations. He led Sunday worship services and prayer meetings with God’s power and encouragement. He attended or taught new members orientation, Bible studies, Sunday School classes, ministry workshop, Christian Leadership School, and Vacation Bible School classes. Rev. Carter provided steadfast support to pastors, associate ministers, officers, ministry leaders, and church staff at New Zion Baptist Church and Second Baptist Church. Rev. Carter also demonstrated good and faithful service to God’s people that were distressed by a situation, short- or long-term sickness, and the sick and shut-in at home or care facilities. H.
