Show Maaniott-Slaterville History June 2012 During the past winter a severe wind storm toppled many trees, and some fell and clogged Mill Creek. Ogden City residents dumped their debris from the wind storms into the creek, but Ogden City refused to take responsibility. Water for the North Slaterville Irrigation Company comes from Pine View Reservoir, through Mill Creek. This resulted in water problems for our subdivisions, farmers, and others, including the Slaterville Park. Water for the park was not available until the end of May and the park has severely dried. The city appreciates the work of the North Slaterville irrigation Company in working with Pine View and other water users and companies to repair Mill Creek, between Ogden Canyon and the Ogden Nature Center. Managing water is not easy; it takes a lot of work to bring water to our valley. The Intermountain McKay-Dee Hospital Senior Health Connection Newsletter for June 2012, dealt with National Men's Health Month, June 2012. It focused on heart disease (#1 health risk for men), cancer, respiratory disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, and suicide. It also listed screenings and seminars. A Bone Density Screening was held in our Senior Center on June 26, 2012, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Bits and Pieces Sunnie May Ortega, daughter of Ryan and Lindsey Ortega, was born June 12, 2012. Avery Marie Stanger, daughter of Steven and Bree Anne Stanger, was bom June 25, 2012. Carrie Rice was one of the Jody Deamer & Company realtors featured in the Standard-Examiner on June 17, 2012. Weber County Sheriffs Sgt. Brent Butler was shown as investigating a two car crash in nearby West Haven, in the Standard Examiner on June 19, 2012. Enthusiasm for the radio-controlled car hobby is growing and getting competitive, according to an article in the Standard-Examiner on June 25, 2012. Races take place every weekend at Addiction RC, in Marriott- Slaterville, owned by Beazer Martin. 141 |
