Show August 19, 2012 Marjorie Slater Parkinson "Together Again" Marjorie Slater Parkinson, 90, passed away on August 19, 2012. She was born on December 6, 1921 to John L. Slater and Sarah Ann Tracy in Marriott, Utah. She attended Weber County schools. Marjorie married Raymond B. Parkinson on March 15, 1941 in Ogden, Utah. She was employed at Gibby Floral. She held many positions in the LDS Church, including Ward Pianist, Relief Society President for both ward and stake. She and Ray organized many ward reunions and received numerous compliments on their success. She was well known for her homemade bread and wonderful pies. Marjorie is survived by her daughters, Ann (Steve) Harrop, Huntsville, UT. Joyce (Scott) Stanger, Perry, UT: her son Michael (Vicki) Parkinson, Farr West, UT: two sisters: Blanche Gibby, St. George, UT. and Venice Poll, S. Weber, UT. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, in-laws, husband, and two children: Janice and Eldon, as well as her grandchildren: Ryan Cottam and Cody Parkinson. The family wishes to thank the staff of Country Lane Assisted living and Advanced Care Hospice for their extra loving care. Funeral services for Marjorie will be held on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Leavitt's Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden. Family will meet with friends prior to services from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. also at the mortuary.
