Show May 26, 2012 Assault suspect waives hearing By Standard-Examiner staff FARMINGTON — A 25- year-old Marriott-Slaterville man waived his right to a preliminary hearing after the prosecutor said the victim was willing to testify truthfully about what happened. "The victim will testify truthfully about what she did or did not recall, so the defense decided there was no need for a preliminary hearing," said Davis County Attorney Troy Rawlings. Brandon Sloper, who appeared in 2nd District Court Friday, is charged with one count of kidnapping and one count of aggravated assault, both second-degree felonies. A felony arraignment hearing is set for June 27. In April, the judge sent Sloper's case back for a preliminary hearing.
