One of Leland's greatest joys in life was serving in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as Sunday School Superintendent, Elders Quorum President and other callings, but most enjoyed being a Stake Missionary and Stake Mission President. He loved teaching and sharing his testimony in a way that others could understand. He was always looking for ways to lift others up and in doing so, made many lifelong friends. Leland loved to square dance and socialize with good friends. He also loved to take his family into the mountains camping and fishing. There are many good memories of times spent hiking and fishing in the high Uintas. Dad also loved gardening and there were always plenty of vegetables to share with family and friends.
