The diaries also include newspaper and magazine clippings, memorabilia and pins. |

Show Tuesday, Jan. 3. Rupbert Knowles helped me this forenoon to put away Xmas things. This afternoon Elizabeth Thomas spent visiting with me. Dr and I read about American Indians this evening until 11 oclock. The Soloists for the Messiah were Blythe Taylor Burns, Soprano Bernice Tyree Contralto (local) Howard Hough Tenor Mark Love Bass Baritone. Wednesday Jan. 4. Dr took my blood pressure this A.M. it was 200. Will have to take it easier I guess. Rupert helped me some today it is quite a job to leave thing O.K. for a two months trip. Have been very buisy all day. Did laundry some of my best linen also underware. Dr has gone to hear talk on England. My blood pressure is 70 tonight. Will retire early. It has been a beautiful day. Thursday, Jan. 5. Snowing today. Have spent a buisy day at home Ralph and Maren called this evening. Have done mending and iorning. Dr and I finished reading American Indian Civilizations by A. Hayatt Verrille. Very good. Friday, Jan. 6. Acacia Club met with Joan Emmett for lunch after which we visited the Forestry Building and were told concerning the work done by the Gov. I wrote to my sister Lucile in N.Y. My Aunt Mary Jones in Mesa Ariz. and our granddaughter Janath Russell in Wellsely College Mass. Junior called had be to dinner party at Gene Ellis. In case I dont get back alive from Panama. I wrote my request as to my personal things being given to our children in Diary of 1938. |
