Show Royal Oak Toll Fixed at 786 LONDON, Oct. 15 Seven hundred and eighty six men were estimated Sunday to have been lost in the sinking of the battleship Royal Oak. The battleship carried a wartime crew of approximately 1200 officers and men and the names of 396 survivors were announced Saturday. Sunday the names of 18 more were issued with the announcement: The secretary of the admiralty regrets to state that the possibility of there being further survivors must now be regarded as remote. |
