Show On the West Front Sept 23 This morning the war news indicated that the fighting on the western front was growing in intensity. From Paris came the information that the Germans were attacking with powerful forces. Within the next few days a test of strength is to be expected and then we may gain a better understanding of the relative power of the contending forces. Of course along the heavily fortified lines a breakthrough is not to be looked for but the gun power should be disclosed. In a week from now we should be better able to figure the trend of things and begin to estimate the duration of the conflict. |
