Show Late Bulletins WASHINGTON, Oct. 10. President Roosevelt asserted at a press conference today that no offers or overtures of peace had been made in the European war. To some of his hearers it seemed the president meant that no overtures had been made officially either in Europe or this country. For the most part Mr. Roosevelt parried questions about prospects of an armistice in the European conflict, although reporters attempted to sound him out in view of intimations from Germany that Hitler would accept mediation if the president so proposed. PARIS, Oct. 10. The Paris Soir reported today that German Admiral Erich Raeder had offered his resignation to Adolf Hitler in protest against Foreign Minister Joachim von Ribbentrops Baltic errors. Hitler rejected the offer, the newspaper said. DALLAS, Tex., Oct. 10. Richard Gallogly, fugitive wealthy Atlanta life termer, surrendered to Sheriff Smoot Schmid here this afternoon. |
