Description	This collection contains 74 diaries of Dr. Edward Rich and his wife Almira. They begin in 1892 and run through 1965. The bulk of this collection centers on Almira's diaries that run from 1897-1947. During that time she documented her personal life and the medical practice of Edward, the community of Ogden and national events such as the outbreaks of WWI and WWII. The diaries also include newspaper and magazine clippings, memorabilia and pins.

OCR Text	Show Thursday, June 8. King George the VI of Eng & Queen enter the U.S. Myrene received a letter from Oertel saying that Janath had received a call for a mission to France and could be ordained in New York. Oscar will go to Europe and spend summer vacation. We will write Oertel to come home for the summer & bring Carol and Robert. Did not sleep well. Have vacumed down stairs this A.M. Went to a D.U.P. Board meeting and had for dinner Dr Will & Ethal & Dr I. Baker made ice cream. Sent telegram to Oertel asking her to come home this summer. Friday, June 9. Dr did not wake me up this A.M. so fixed his own breakfast and was gone when I got up. I had left last nights dinner dishes to be washed at Drs request so I spent from nine to ten washing then at this time Dr F. Baker called and Dr brought his cousin Lottie Phelps Crawshaw whom I havent seen for years. I set lunch and then spent until six P.M. visiting with her. She went to Salt Lake after which I did up the house work for the day. Saturday, June 10. Beautiful day. the papers are full of news in regard to King George VI and Queen Elizabeth of England visiting our Country. It is the first time that a British monarch ever visited the country that defied despotion in a Declaration of Independance and won its freedom with the force of arms. They are being entertained very gallantly by Pres. & Mrs Franklin D. Roosevelt & his staff at Wash D.C. & Hyde Park the Roswell home. the King placed a wreath on Washingtons tomb. Wrote to Oertel & Lucile. Sent Oscar Russell 50.00 to get geaneology for Cozzens record. Sunday, June 11. Dr & I went to Sunday School. Dr gave a good lesson on Book of Mormon Dr also went to Priestood meeting. He is chairman of building Committe for a Scout Home in 18 Ward. We had a nice dinner with Cleone & family. She Justin & Myrelle went with us up to South Fork to see Joe & Myrenes new canon home. It will be very comfortable. This evening we attended Sacrament meeting. We read quite late after church.
