During that time she documented her personal life and the medical practice of Edward, the community of Ogden and national events such as the outbreaks of WWI and WWII. The diaries also include newspaper and magazine clippings, memorabilia and pins. |

Show Monday, Sept. 4. Mrs Emma Winter is very sick with stroke. Her son Sidney & family are here form Iowa. I had them & his Sister & husband Claud Parry to dinner & to spend the evening. They were our close neighbors when our children & hers were small. Tuesday, Sept. 5. Recd a letter from Oertel saying Oscar is on his way home from Europe and Janath is staying in the French L.D.S. mission as Sec. to Pres. Joseph Evans. We feel she will be all right as the church will take no chances. They have already sent most of the missionaries to countries not involved. We shall trust in the Lord that all will be cared for. I attended Relief Society sewing meeting. Wednesday, Sept. 6. Dr and I left early for Salt Lake City. Dr will attended Medical Convention and we attended funeral services for Joseph H. Raleigh 80 yr old. He married Drs cousin Claire Phelps. I called to see Mae Cozzens, also called at the Raleigh home with Dr. Thursday, Sept. 7. Thur Zula Rich Cole came and will remain over night with us. Mrs Hellen Stafford gave a review of the a part of a book she is writing featuring Mary Ann Rich Drs mother. Cleone and Myrene were here to hear it. Very good we think. I have had Rupert Knowles clean thro the down stairs today. Canada declares War also. |
