The Ship Three Cruise Ships At Cristobal Today CRISTOBAL, Feb. 16 This port is slated for another tourist invasion on Friday in the arrival of three major cruise ships, one of which however, the S.S. Washington, will not dock here, three regular liners carrying tourists and a great many freighters, some of which are carrying passengers. The Washington will arrive at 4.30 A.M. and will transit the Canal on the first morning schedule, reaching Balboa about 2:00 P.M. and docking there to give her 686 passengers several hours of sightseeing before sailing for California on her first intercoastal voyage. The Holland America Nieuw Amsterdam will be the days treat however for the gold coasters who succeed in getting passes to board the newest of the great trans Atlantic liners. She is bringing 560 passengers who will have ample time to shop and cabaret in Colon for the liner docks at 2:00 P.M. and will not depart until 6:00 A.M. the following day on her cruise around South America. She will reach Balboa at 2:00 P.M. and will sail at midnight on her Round South America cruise. Only those persons having passes from the agents, the P.S.N.C. will tie permitted to board the ship. Six admeasurers will board the ship on arrival and are expected to complete measurement by the following morning when she sails for Balboa. The same number will be placed aboard the Washington Friday morning to perform their duties while the great U.S. liner is in transit. Two pilots will take each of the great ships through the Canal. The third cruise liner expected is the Norwegian American liner Oslofjord on the second of her three planned cruises to the Caribbean. She will arrive at 5:00 A.M. with 400 passengers and will remain until 1:00 A.M. Saturday.
