PARIS, Oct. 9 For the first time since the war started five weeks ago, an official French communique today gave indications that more or less general operations were underway on the western front. The communique said German patrol activity was very great and said it was taking place all the way from the Moselle river valley on the extreme end of the front to Saarbruecken, where the Saar river bends back from Germany into France. WASHINGTON, Oct. 9 The senate agreed today to vote at noon Tuesday on a motion by Sen. Charles W. Tobey to recommit the neutrality bill for the purpose of separating the title and carry and the arms embargo repeal provisions. WASHINGTON, Oct. 9. The senate agreed late today to vote by two p. m.
