Show Saturday, Oct. 7. Listened to L.D.S. Gen. Conference most all day. At 4 P.M. Cleone & I attended a Tea at Mrs Proudfitts. Dr & I read until late this evening. A warning sent U.S. that a passanger boat the Iregna would be sunk off American shores on or before Oct 11. We think Janath may possiably be coming home from Europe on it. However this threat is generaly thought to be a bluff. Sunday, Oct. 8. A rather cool day. Dr & I drove to Salt Lake to attend Conference. A wonderful Spirit throughout entire conference. Apostle Geo. F. Richards spoke very fine &bore a wonderful testimony to the truthfulness of the Gospel as did all other speakers. The Tabernacle was crowded also Asembly Hall. People stood up in the isles and door ways. Pres Grants testimony was grand & convincing. We saw my cousin Burtrom Jones who has just been made Stake Pres. of Pasedena Stake Cal. With Dr W.H. Petty as first counsilor. We had a nice lunch at the Utah Hotel. Arrived home about 6 P.M. Monday, Oct. 9. A lovly clear day. no frost of flowers so far. Have done up hand laundry which consisted of our hose sox & underware. This afternoon Cleone entertained her sorority group of the State 40 in all. Myrene entertained her bridge Club about 20. I have written to Mrs W.H. Petty a dear friend also Avon. Dr & I read this evening. Myrene and baby Alex called. Myrene paid me 43.50 for linens we brought her from Panama. Cleone paid 75.00 some time ago for linen brought her. |
