Croats Ask Mercy ZAGREB, Jugoslavia, Oct. 15 Vice Premier Vladko Matchek, leader of the Croat minority, Sunday appealed to his followers to end a wave of political assassinations which has taken at least 12 lives since the Croats were granted autonomy last August. Most of the victims have been police officials. Some were Serbs and others were Croats who cooperated with the Serbs before the Croats were granted home rule. Finn Envoy Explains WASHINGTON, Oct. 15 Hjalmar J. Procope, Finnish minister, said Sunday night his country wanted to maintain friendly relations with Russia and Germany, but will not give up her vital rights or sign any agreement incompatible with her independence, neutrality and integrity. His reference was to negotiations recently begun with soviet Russia at the latters request. |
