Show Dedication Many hours have been spent in training for emergencies in our city, and an emergency did occur in the spring of this year. After an unusually wet winter, the inevitable melting of the deep snowpacks in the mountains resulted in the Weber River overflowing its banks in many places. As this river winds along our border and through the community, serious flooding came to Marriott-Slaterville City. A State of Emergency was declared by Mayor Keith Butler; the CERT members were ready,. Volunteers filled sandbags and worked where directed. Though yards and fields were flooded, and Pioneer Road closed for a time, serious home damage was avoided This volume of history is, therefore, dedicated to Dixie Little, Director of CERT Ken Littie Neil Saunders and Gerald Bischoff, Management Leaders CERT members and Volunteers They served their neighbors. 111 |
