Show May 20, 2011 Soggy ground hurts events Organizers change locations of Ogden Music Festival, Utah Renaissance Festival By JESUS LOPEZ JR. Standard-Examiner staff jlopez@standard.net OGDEN — Rain, flooding and just plain soggy ground have put a damper on events in the area. Broken levees and overflowing rivers sent organizers of the Ogden Music Festival and Utah Renaissance Festival and Fantasy Faire scrambling to find new venues. Weber County Parks and Recreation Manager Jim Carter met with the Ogden Friends of Acoustic Music to find a new location for the Ogden Music Festival, scheduled for June 3-5. See more weather- The festival was related stories in sports scheduled to take on 5A place at Fort Bue naventura, but flooding from the Weber River has left the areas around the restrooms and parts of the parking lot under water. Carter said the ground is too wet to camp or set up the festival. Carter said festival organizers decided to move the event to North Fork Park just north of Liberty. "It's a very nice bowery, nice park," Carter said. "It's just a little out of the way compared NICK SHORT/Standard-Examiner Water floods the area where the main stage for the Ogden Music Festival would have been held at Fort Buenaventura recently in Ogden.
