The Wildcats, picked fifth by the league's media and sixth by the coaches, begin fall camp this morning at the stadium with the goal of having a team that looks as good as the $1 million-plus renovation of their home field. With 13 starters returning, six on offense and seven on defense, Weber State coach Ron McBride said he likes his squad. "They understand what work ethic is and they're hungry. That's two pluses and it looks like they're pretty talented," McBride said. "The only minus is we're a pretty young group, but that's all right. If you're hungry and you're young, there are pluses to that." With four-year starter Cameron Higgins gone, the Wildcats will have a new face at quarterback for the first time in a long time. Junior quarterback Mike Hoke showed up at his first camp as the starter with a bleached blond mohawk and promised the Wildcats will be a team with plenty of personality.
