Show October 9, 2011 Pearl and J. Leland Stanger Local couple celebrates 75 years J. Leland and Pearl Millard Stanger of Marriott-Slaterville celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary with a family dinner. They were married Sept. 29, 36, in The Church of Jesus ist of Latter-day Saints Salt ke Temple. *hey raised five children in arriott, where they built their ae and established a poultry mess and a lifetime career of farming and ranching with their family. He was born May 28, 1914, ik Marriott, where he attended school and graduated from Weber High School. He has served in the, Marriott LDS Ward in various callings and in the Farr West LDS Stake Mission for 11 years. He enjoys his garden and helping his son on the farm. She was born Dec. 24, 1916, in Marriott, where she attended school and graduated from Weber High School and the Ogden Beauty School. She was active in the Marriott LDS Ward, serving in Relief Society and Primary. She was also active in the PTA. She was a seamstress for family and friends, and was known as the "Egg Lady," selling fresh eggs. She enjoys sunsets, attending the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, visiting teaching, preparing garden vegetables and pruning her flowers. Their children and spouses are L. Dallas and Sharon Stanger, Marian and Curtis Smout, Leon J. and Lynda Stanger, Jerry D. and Teri Stanger, and Don R. and Jeri Sue Stanger. They have 23 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren. They have worked with their grandchildren on the farm, enjoyed sleigh riding with them, the pony cart and family gatherings. 245 |
