That means we will be able to tap into federal monies to help pay for our flooding. It also opens up the State for supplemental mitigation monies that we can apply for as well. It also means that we will have some extra work (on-scene assessments, documentation of costs and purchases, etc.) as we go through the process with FEMA. I am just sending this info to you as a heads up, that sometime soon, and probably with short notice, we will need to meet with FEMA and begin the process. It usually begins with a "kick off meeting, and then we will do some on-site visits to assess the damages, and digging out all of our documentation for OT, purchases, etc. and then more meetings to go over our costs -vs- what FEMA thinks are our costs. Now would be a good time to begin collecting all of your documentation. I will be sending out an email to all of the departments to see if any others experienced any costs from the flooding. No need to jump at his point. Just a heads up to be ready. Thanks, and, this will be a good thing Lance Sent: Aug 8, 2011 6:06 PM 97 8/10/2011 |
