Marriott-Slaterville History June 2011 We are proud of our many Honor Roll students attending Fremont High School and Wahlquist Junior High. Included are Lauren Holley, Joshua Wayment, Hunter DeVries, Meggan Hodson, Allie Lewis, Dakota Louth, Kaleigh Wayment, Dallin Holley, Kathryn Dimick, Logan George, Dakota George, Breaken Lassen.Zachary Spencer, Tammie Meyerhoffer, Darlynn Sagapofa, Bailey DeVries, Drew Holley and Daniel Holley. Congratulations to the Wahlquist Junior High School Girls Basketball team who won the District Championship for 2011. Maryah Tipping played on the team, and Ashley Farr was the manager. A fund raiser for Cody Anderson of our city was held on June 4, 2011. He needs a liver transplant at the age of 31. Laree Shurtliff was selected as Queen of the Weber County DUP for this year. Madalyn Taylor placed in the semifinals of the recent Von Cliburn piano competition. Shirley Slater Huesgen was one of the guides at the Ogden City Cemetery Walking Tour, as she told the story of her great-great grandmother Ann Corbridge Slater. Ann and her husband Richard Slater settled in Slaterville and their brick home still stands. Mrs. Huesgen was pictured in an article in The Standard Examiner on June 10, 2011. Melvin and Joan Meyerhoffer were pictured in their 1960 Ford Thunderbird as they attended their class of 1961 Bonneville and Weber HighSchool reunion. (TheStandaardExaminer, June 26, 2011.)
