Show Service Above Self scholarships ABOVE: Zack Spencer, Shelby Powell and Garrett Weeks each received a $2,500 scholarship given by Rotary of Ogden and the Stewart Education Foundation. The Service Above Self Scholarship is given to students who perform acts of service. Zack, a student at Fremont High School collected school supplies for Head Start and the homeless shelter, among other charitable acts. Shelby, a student at Ogden High School, helps the Boys & Girls Club of Weber-Davis and the Ogden Rescue Mission and raised funds for needy children. Garrett, a student at Bonneville High School, is the mayor of the South Ogden City youth city council and has served as a Spanish translator at Odyssey Elementary School. Fuller Congratulations, Zach Spencer April 28, 2011 Liberty gospel quartet to perform at 7 p.m. Friday MARRIOTT-SLATERVILLE — First United Methodist Church, 1339 W. 400 North, off Interstate 15 exit 346, in Marriott-Slaterville, will host Liberty, a traditional Southern Gospel Quartet at 7 p.m. Friday. Their ministry bridges all generations, bringing enjoy ment to traditional venues as well as contemporary, according to a news release from the church. The concert is free to the public; however, a love offering will be taken to support their ministry. For more information,- call the church at 801-393-5662. Fuller Kent D. Fuller of Eden celebrated his 80th birthday with family and friends at a surprise party Born May 13, 1931, in Ogden to Leonard and Phylis Berlin Fuller, he attended school in Eden and Huntsville. He graduated from Weber High School in 1949 and was senior class president. He also attended Weber College and was freshman class president. He enjoyed playing church basketball and Farm Bureau baseball teams in his youth. He has been a lifelong cattle rancher and horse breeder. He raised and raced quarter horses and Thoroughbreds successfully in the Intermountain area. He enjoys spending time at Wolf Creek Ranch in Eden and Hid den Heaven Ranch in Marriott- Slaterville. He was employed for 23 years at the Utah State Industrial School, where he operated the state's cattle ranch and enjoyed supervising the young men there, teaching them the value of work. He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Eden 2nd Ward. He is one of the plaintiffs who successfully reclaimed the Wolf Creek Trail and Park for the citizens of Weber County at the Utah State Supreme Court level. He married Belva Berrett in 1950. His four children and their spouses are Debra and Jon Bingham, Kerry Fuller, Shanna and Larry Francis, and Jason and Chris Fuller. He then married Susan Stanger in 1969 and their family includes: Cody and Tricia Fuller, Brandon and Ali Fuller, Brady and Heather Fuller, Emily Fuller, and Magen and Michael Schmidt.
