Show DON BEESLEY: ’57, was awarded a Doctorate degree by the University of Southern California in Education. Dr. Beesley received an Associate of Science Degree from Weber Jr. College. DR. ROBERT L. MOESINGER: Class of ’60 will open his practice in Ogden where he will be associated with Dr. Lynn R. Robinson as an ear, nose and throat specialist, in the Rocky Mountain Plaza at 3955 Harrison Blvd. Dr. Moesinger completed a four year residency at University of Oregon Medical School Hospital in Portland, Oregon, after serving with the Army as a physician for two years. One year of that time was spent in South Vietnam. | JERRY C. NEWELL: ’59 has been awarded a Master’s degree of Education from the University of Oregon. He earned an Associate of Science Degree at Weber State College, and a Bachelor of Science in Communications from Brigham Young University. DR. DEAN A. CHRISTENSEN: ’61 has opened his practice of Orthodontics in two offices, one at 924 24th Street and the other at 312 W. Gentile in Layton. Dr. Christensen was student body president at Weber State College during the year 1960-61. He was graduated from the University of Oregon Dental School in 1967. DR. JAMES H. MATIS: ’65 is now assistant professor at Texas A & M University in College Station, Texas. PHILLIP W. JOHNSON: ’72 who graduated Cum Laude from Weber State College has been awarded a _ teaching assistantship to the University of Utah while studying for his Master’s degree in Business Administration. DREW H. ELLSWORTH: ’72 honors graduate of Weber State College with a combined major in French and Spanish, has been awarded a teaching assistantship to Brigham Young University. He will be working toward a Doctoral degree in English at the university while teaching classes there. HEBER R. BINGHAM: ’70 has been awarded a M.B.S. from Harvard University at the 32ist Commencement. DAVID MILLER: Class of ’70 received a scholarship from the law firm of Florence — Hutchinson to attend the University of Utah. He was a counselor at the Clearfield Urban Job Corps Center prior to taking a position-as supervisor in probation counseling for the 1st District Juvenile Court. SCOTT L. GREENWELL: ’70 has been awarded a renewable assistantship in History to the University of Nebraska, while he completes his studies for a Doctorate. RONALD L. TAYLOR: ’71 was selected to participate in the National Science Foundation Institute at the University of Georgia, Athens, Ga. He was one of 30 teachers from throughout the nation to attend this six week sociology institute. JOSEPH A. BURKE: Class of ’71 was recently awarded a Master’s degree at the University of Hawaii in Library Studies. In honor of his distinguished scholastic achievement he was invited to join Beta Phi Mu, the International Library Science Honor Fraternity. CRAIG KNEEDY: Class of ’72 has been accepted to the School of Dentistry at Western Reserve University at Cleveland, Ohio. MARCIA ANN ZILL GRUSCHOW, AND ELWOOD C. GRUSCHOW: both of ’72 are among the 27 young men and women scheduled to begin service in United Methodist home mission projects and programs. They will serve under the National Division of the United Methodist Board of Missions. DEVERAUX, Air Force first Lt. ’70, United has arrived at Shaw AFB in South Carolina to serve as an air traffic controller with a unit of the Tactical Air Command, which provides combat units for air support of the U.S. ground forces. Lt. Deveraux earned his B.S. degree in electrical engineering at Weber State College. THAIR R. PHILLIPS, ’71 was com- missioned second Lt. and awarded his silver wings as a navigator and bombardier with the U.S.A.F. at Mather AFB, California. Lt. Phillips graduated from Weber State College in data processing. His wife is the former JANA DEWEY. -DEAN WADE, ’69, recently received a Master of Science Degree in Business Management from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville Arkansas, European Division. Sgt. Wade is presently living in Karamursel Turkey with his wife, the former JUDY COTTLE, and 2 sons. MICHAEL P. GRANDINETTI, ’64 has been graduated from the Air University’s Squadron Officer School at Maxwell AFB, Alabama. Captain Grandinetti has completed a tour of duty in Vietnam. His wife is the former SHIZUE YAHOTA. CHAD T. MORTENSEN, ’71 has received his silver wings upon graduation from U.S.A.F. training at Mather AFB, California. Lt. Mortenson will be a navigator, bombardier. He has completed two tours of duty in Vietnam. He is married to the former BETTY SHERWOOD. RODNEY T. SATO, ’64 Captain in the U.S.A.F. has been selected for a 14 week course which prepares jr. officers to assume higher command. The curriculum covers communicative skills, leadership; national strength, resources, management and international relations. Capt. Sato has completed a tour of duty in Vietnam, and holds the Bronze Star Medal. His wife is the former TAMIKO YAMANE. | LARRY R. DIPOMA, ’67 Captain in the U.S.A.F. has received the Air Force Commendation Medal for service during the Presidential Conference with the President of France, the Prime Minister of Portugal, and President Nixon in the Azores in December 1971. Captain Dipoma is assistant professor of aero-space studies at the University of Wisconsin Superior. He is married to the former CHRIS PROFAZIER. JERALD R. ALLEN, ’70 has reported to HAFB for his first Air Force assignment as an accounting and finance officer. The Lieutenant recently received a master’s degree in finance from Indiana University. WILLIAM D. CRAYNOR, ’69, has been promoted to chief hospital corpsman in the Naval Reserve. He is married to the former Dianne Henderson. 2nd LT. KEITH 3 B. ORTON, ’70, recently commissioned in the USAFR Officer Training Corps program at the University of Washington. While at Weber State he was one of the top honor students. In 1970 he was granted a Master of Science degree in Curriculum Development and Evaluation from Utah State University in Logan. JAMES D. TORGHELE: ’68 has completed requirements for a Doctor of Dentistry degree from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Torghele received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Weber State College in 1968. He is presently practicing dentistry in St. Louis, where he lives with his wife, Charlotte, and one daughter. J. GARY BISCHOFF: ’68 has been awarded a D.D.S. from Northwestern University Dental School in Chicago, II. Dr. Bishoff graduated from Weber State College in 1968 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology. the University of Utah. He is employed by a chemical firm in Salt Lake City. He is married to the former Judith Leroy and they have six children. CARL KENDELL: has received a graduate teaching assistantship to Montana State University at Bozeman while working _ toward a Master’s degree in Geology. the His only official duty - will be to play and practice with the band. Dr. Ferre completed work for the degree ~<s \ \ ‘ CONNIE REID HUGGINS: ’47 recently won both ist and 2nd place in the song writing contest sponsored by the League of _Utah Writers. Mrs. Huggins also had a lead in the Weber State College opera, ‘“‘The Consul’. She is married to Hugh Huggins, and they have three daughters. TED J. WARNER: ’49 received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from. Brigham Young University, and PhD from the University of New Mexico in 1962. He has been on the faculty of the Brigham Young University since that time. He has recently been promoted to Professor. of * History and appointed Chairman of the Department of History. DONALD E. SOELBERG: ’50 was awarded a doctorate degree from Brigham Young University in the field of educatior administration. Dr. Soelberg earned. his Bachelor’s degree in 1952, and his Master’s degree in 1962 from the University of Utah. While at Weber College in 1949-50, he was the student body president and was active in theater. |
