Two of the four women’s sports advanced through tough league play into championship competition on the regional level, and the seven men’s sports combined to win three Big Sky Conference championships and return the coveted All-Sports Trophy to Weber State for the first time since 1970. ‘“‘We’re all very proud of the overall excellence of our sports programs this year,”’ said Wildcat Athletic Director Gary Crompton. “From top to bottom and over the entire range of athletic competition, we‘ve proven that we have not only the best program but probably the best balanced on our level of competition. It is a tribute to the dedicated coaches and athletes as well as to the excellent support of the administration.” The three school provided at least and probably more All Americans this year in a variety of sports. Basketball—The Wildcat netters brought the Big Sky Conference trophy to Ogden for the first time since 1973.
